Diversions due to road closures

Sometimes roads close. Buses need to divert. Plan-my-bus needs to know about these diversions.

A diversion typically involves replacing one series of bus stops with another. For example, if the Peel Promenade were to close then a diversion may consist of the following replacement:

All buses that go through the first list of bus stops as part of the normal schedule will now be assumed to go through the second list of stops.

The diversion may take longer. If so, the later times will be adjusted.

Extra bus services for special events

Bus Vannin often put on extra buses for events such as the Royal Manx Agricultural Show.

Diversions start and end times

Usually diversions are for fixed periods. Sometimes the end date and time is not known. For example the Castletown Festival does not announce an exact end time and Bus Vannin say only that diversions will end when the road re-opens.
